WHO WE ARE
The Meaning Behind the Motto
Sanguinem Sudorem et Cervisiae – (Latin) Blood, Sweat and Beers
We are Dallas Beer Guardians. We are more than a supporters group; we are family – Beer Family. We bleed for our club, FC Dallas, and each other. We drink to honor our players (past and present), our club and one another.
Through victory or defeat, we are there early and leave our voices in the stadium after. We are on our feet for the full 90 minutes, celebrating the highs and singing away the lows how it should be: as one voice. Though Texas weather can be wildly unpredictable, we are not in the fact that you can consistently find us singing and chanting through every home game in the Beer Garden (probably sun burnt, sweating, freezing or a combination of the three).
Join us by becoming a Dallas Beer Guardian, and help us grow the Beautiful Game for FC Dallas!
Hear from our founder, Andrew Gerbosi (the Godfather), about the beginnings of DBG.
History
The story of the Dallas Beer Guardians (DBG) begins with a flag, abandoned in the supporters' section after an FC Dallas win, buried under mud and beer but full of potential. That flag was rescued, cleaned, and proudly flown in the Beer Garden, where it became a symbol of new energy and rebirth. A few more matches, a few more beers, and a dimly lit idea sparked what would become the most passionate supporters group in Frisco.
Originally known as FCDrunk, the group quickly made an impression on both fans and the club’s front office, breathing life back into the matchday atmosphere at Toyota Stadium. But as support and membership grew, so did the need for a more sustainable identity. During the 2011–2012 off-season, the group rebranded as the Dallas Beer Guardians, combining the fun and irreverence of the original name with a stronger sense of purpose and pride.
The 2012 season marked an unexpected explosion in growth, and the momentum hasn’t slowed since. In 2015, DBG joined the Independent Supporters Council (ISC), stepping into a broader network of supporter culture across North America. Just three years later, in 2018, the group was honored as the ISC Philanthropic Group of the Year for the “Enemies for 90… Texans for Life” initiative—an unprecedented partnership with rival groups in Houston and San Antonio to raise funds for Hurricane Harvey relief.
That same spirit of camaraderie and commitment was on full display in 2016, when FC Dallas lifted the Supporters’ Shield, and the Dallas Beer Guardians were entrusted to house and protect the trophy. That season stands as a proud moment in club history, and DBG was honored to be the stewards of the league’s top regular-season prize.
DBG also proudly carries the torch for one of the league’s most storied rivalries through our stewardship of the Brimstone Cup, the long-standing fan-created trophy contested between FC Dallas and the Chicago Fire. We help keep the flame alive for this historic tradition, rooted in passion, pride, and a bit of healthy hostility.
More than just matchday chants and smoke bombs, DBG has built a legacy of independent support, community activism, and local partnerships through initiatives like DBG Cares. From supporting youth programs like Denton ISD’s G.O.A.L. initiative to working with nonprofits and amplifying fan voices on league-wide issues, the Dallas Beer Guardians are committed to making an impact on and off the pitch.
Today, the flag that started it all still waves in the Beer Garden, and with every match, we continue to build on that legacy. If you love soccer, FC Dallas, and standing for something more, there’s a spot for you with the Dallas Beer Guardians.

Independent Supporters Council
The Independent Supporters Council (ISC) is a collective of supporters groups from across Major League Soccer, the USL, NWSL, and other leagues throughout North America. Founded on the principles of independence, inclusivity, and solidarity, the ISC exists to amplify the voice of supporters in shaping the culture of soccer in the U.S. and Canada. The council brings together groups from dozens of clubs to advocate for safe environments, fair treatment of fans, and the protection of supporters’ rights both in stadiums and in broader league policy.
The Dallas Beer Guardians officially joined the ISC in 2015, recognizing the importance of standing with fellow supporters beyond club rivalries. Through ISC, we’ve had a seat at the table to discuss key issues impacting fans—such as league transparency, ticketing policies, security practices, and the fight for safe standing and anti-discrimination protections. It also gives us the chance to collaborate on large-scale philanthropic projects, like the award-winning “Enemies for 90… Texans for Life” initiative, which earned DBG and our Texas rivals the 2018 ISC Philanthropic Group of the Year award.
Being a member of the ISC is about more than representation—it's about connection. It allows the Dallas Beer Guardians to share knowledge, build partnerships, support inclusive soccer culture, and stand up for fans across all levels of the game. As part of the ISC, we’re not just supporting FC Dallas—we’re helping shape the future of North American soccer from the grassroots up.
Tifo Throughout The Years
Tifo, short for "tifosi," the Italian word for passionate fans, is a large, fan-made display that turns the stands into a canvas of support. Whether it's a massive painted banner, flags, or a creative message, tifo is how supporters show pride, passion, and personality. For the Dallas Beer Guardians, tifo is one of our loudest visual statements—designed by members, created by hand, and proudly unveiled in our section.
Here’s a look back at some of our favorite tifo moments over the years.
